Welcome to the local online magazine and daily resource guide designed especially for residents living in the Kingdom of Fife. Within these pages, you'll discover a growing repository of informative articles about the Fife peninsula and covering a wide range of subjects that affect daily life in the region. In coming months, subjects covered will include globalisation, local business, ageism, racism, employment, education, health, wealth, debt, transport, housing, local services, politics, law, environmental issues and much else besides. More than that, we’ll be looking at issues from a highly practical perspective and with a keen eye on the future. Our mission is to help you enjoy a 'Better Life In Fife'. We're not planning to accomplish such a huge task on our own and hoping you will help us make this web site an essential part of your day.
There are 350,000 people and 9,000 business operators located in Fife near Edinburgh, Dundee and Perth. Fife has several visitor attractions including the oldest golf course in the World.

Regular Updates
The FifeServe Website is typically updated every few days to reflect changes in content and changes. We refer to these updates as editions and the date mentioned above will always feature somewhere on the front page. At the present time, we're still building up the site and it's sadly inevitable that some pages will appear blank at this time of writing. Please don't despair though - this is a BIG project undertaken with modest resources and we're working hard to ensure this Internet resource can be a motivating power in the future. Already, we're top ranked in Google for some searches (see below) yet aim to do far better in future.

We've had calls from Belgium asking for more details about visitor accommodation in Fife and others from the Irish Republic about property in Fife. FifeServe is at the beginning of a new age in which many challenges exist and where many former solutions may not work. It's time for change and new ideas! Time to use YOUR knowledge and experience to help forge the way ahead! We look forward to hearing from you!

Be A Part Of The Solution!
Nobody wants a nuclear electric power plant next door yet we all want the comfort of heat, light and other facilities at the touch of a button. Nobody wants a dump of any kind nearby and yet this is the kind of decision facing us all today. We're happy to visit local supermarkets and buy goods wrapped in polymer and often made abroad. A huge proportion of our food comes in metal cans or supplied on foam trays wrapped in cellophane. The bulk of our food is no longer natural and is processed in degrees our ancestors would not recognise. Chemicals applied to food in conjuction with refridgeration would have been a completely alien concept. The idea of drinking milk several weeks old was never an option in the past.
Science, coupled with commercial aspiration, has provided many answers to old questions and there are many worthy of continuance but there are obvious situations in which science and technology may have exceeded the range of common sense. The editors at FifeServe have been astounded how many people in low paid jobs use Caffiene products to keep awake in order to work long hours to male a decent living wage! In recent weeks, we've met Fifers working incredible hours just to stay alive and make enough to meet the demands of taxation and survival. We've met workers from abroad who have managed to secure child benefit payments to foreign addresses! Even the local Cashline Machine, when it works, carries the sign of the National Post Office yet is run by the Bank of Ireland! Personal and National debt has never been higher. Even banks are facing hardship and risks like never before.
The issue of global climate change will continue even as fossil fuel supplies decline. Maybe, in the longer term, the issue will be seen as a cosmic joke, a limit placed on mankind by God to ensure preservation. In the meantime, it'll be interesting to see how the future unfolds.
